Privacy Policy
ScopeSimple is designed to collect as little as possible. The app has no user accounts, no login, and no server of our own. The information you enter — your energy use, transport, business details, and the footprints you calculate — is stored only on your device. We never receive it, never transmit it to a server we control, and never sell or share it. There is nothing for us to leak, because we don't hold your data in the first place.
This document explains that in full.
1. Who we are
This app is provided by ScopeSimple Technologies Inc. ("ScopeSimple", "we", "us", or "our"), based in Alberta, Canada.

2. Information we collect
We do not collect your personal or usage data.
ScopeSimple runs entirely on your device. Everything you enter and everything the app calculates is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. This includes:
- The energy, transport, and business figures you enter
- The carbon footprints and GHG inventories you calculate
- Your saved history and any reporting periods you tag
- Your settings, such as your country, region, and chosen mode
None of this is sent to us or to any server we operate. We have no account system, so we never ask for, receive, or store your name, email address, or any login credentials. (Any name you optionally enter in the app is stored on your device only, for display within the app, and is never transmitted to us.)
We use no analytics or tracking. ScopeSimple contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting tools. We do not track your activity within the app, across other apps, or across the web. We do not use cookies or advertising identifiers.
3. Subscriptions and payments
ScopeSimple offers optional paid subscriptions (Personal Premium and Business) through Apple's App Store. All payments are handled by Apple, not by us.
When you subscribe, Apple processes your payment using your Apple ID. We never see, receive, or store your credit card number or other payment details. The app checks with Apple's system on your device to confirm whether you have an active subscription, so the right features unlock — but this check happens between your device and Apple, and does not send your information to us.
Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
4. Links to other websites
ScopeSimple may include links that take you to third-party websites outside the app — for example, information about carbon-offset providers or other external resources. If you tap such a link, you leave ScopeSimple and that website's own privacy policy and terms apply. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of websites we link to. We encourage you to read their policies before providing them with any information.
If we ever earn a referral fee from an external partner, that relationship does not change what we collect — which remains nothing — and does not affect the price you pay the partner.
5. Your data and your control
Because your data lives only on your device:
- You can delete it at any time by deleting your saved entries within the app, or by deleting the app, which removes all of its locally stored data from your device.
- We cannot access, retrieve, or restore your data, because we never have a copy of it. We recommend keeping your own records of anything important to you.
- There is no account to close, because there is no account.
6. Children's privacy
ScopeSimple is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children — because we do not collect personal information at all.
7. Your rights
Privacy laws in Canada (PIPEDA), the United Kingdom and European Economic Area (UK GDPR / GDPR), the United States (including state laws such as the CCPA in California), and Australia (the Privacy Act) give individuals rights over their personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it.
Because ScopeSimple does not collect or hold your personal information, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — your information stays in your hands, on your device, under your control. If you believe we hold any information about you and wish to exercise a privacy right, contact us at hello@scopesimple.com and we will respond.
8. Changes to this policy
If ScopeSimple changes in a way that affects how information is handled — for example, if a future feature introduces optional cloud backup or a service that sends data off your device — we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above before that feature becomes available. Any such feature would be described clearly, and where appropriate would be optional.
