Personal focuses on your household footprint — home energy and transport — with equivalencies and a shareable results card. Business calculates a Scope 1 and 2 inventory for your organisation using region-specific factors, with exportable reports. Both modes are free to start — each has an optional paid upgrade that adds more (see pricing below). You choose the mode that fits when you start.

Your data stays on your device. ScopeSimple has no account system and no server of ours — nothing you enter is sent to us or stored in the cloud by us. There's nothing for us to leak, because we never hold your information in the first place. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

No. There's no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party data sharing. The app simply does its calculations on your device.

Because it lives only on your device, deleting the app removes its data. We can't retrieve or restore it for you — we never had a copy — so it's worth exporting or noting anything you want to keep.

From official government sources in each market: Environment and Climate Change Canada (NIR), the US EPA (eGRID), the UK Government / DEFRA, and the Australian Government (NGER). Every factor is documented — with its source and year — in our methodology.

Because electricity emissions vary enormously by region depending on how power is generated there. ScopeSimple applies the factor for your specific province or state rather than a national average, which makes your result far more accurate. There's a fuller explanation in our guide to tCO₂e.

Scope 3 covers your whole value chain — suppliers, purchased goods, business travel, commuting, waste — and it's complex and data-hungry to estimate well. For most individuals and small businesses, a solid Scope 1 and 2 number is what's actually needed, and doing that rigorously is more valuable than doing everything poorly. (A simplified in-app "Scope 3 Lite" is planned, and hands-on Scope 3 help is available through ScopeSimple for Business.)

No — ScopeSimple produces a well-documented estimate for self-assessment, not a formal certified or assured statement. It's built to be transparent and credible, but if you need formal third-party assurance for a regulatory or contractual purpose, that's a separate process. See our Terms for the full position.

At launch: Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia — with region-specific electricity factors down to the province or state where the data supports it. We're planning to expand coverage to more countries and regions in future versions.
